De-registration of a Motor Vehicle

The reason or cause for a de-registration of a motor vehicle can be a variety of options. The main reason is normally due to theft of the vehicle. If you need to de-register the motor vehicle due to theft, it is important to do so as soon as possible. You never know what the 3rd party might do with this vehicle after it got stolen.

To be able to handle this as quickly as possible we can assist you by completing the forms and standing in the queues on your behalf. At the time of theft, you are already frustrated and do not want to struggle and get even more frustrated by standing in a lot of queues.

We would need the following information from you to renew your vehicle license. (Motor vehicles also include: trailers, trucks, caravans and motorcycles)

1. Copy of your South African ID
2. Proof of address
3. The original registration form of the vehicle
4. The reason for the deregistration (If the vehicle was stolen, we would need the case number to show as proof of this)

For more information on vehicle licences in South Africa, be sure to visit www.gov.za or for our Western Cape clients also visit www.westerncape.gov.za.
